Want to get mapped?
How often do you read an advertisement in a magazine for yet another miracle product for wrinkles or pigmentation and think: this is what I need? There are so many products out there, it’s confusing. While you may think that something your friend recommends could work for you too, this could lead to disappointment and wasted time and money. Talking to an esthetician for a few minutes can help clear up the confusion.
Developed by Dermalogica, Face Mapping takes no more than five to ten minutes, can be done in the waiting area or when you process a hair color- and it’s free! Consulting with a knowledgeable professional eliminates the guesswork when selecting products for your skin.
Chinese Diagnosis, one of the philosophies behind Face mapping, is based on the belief that the skin provides a view into the body’s health. Our skin reflects habits like over-exfoliation or smoking. In face mapping, the face is divided into 14 zones. Each zone corresponds to an internal organ. For example, while the space between the brows corresponds to the liver, the cheeks correspond to the lungs, and so on.
I will check your face using a magnifying lamp, and based on touch and sight, write a prescription sheet. That will be the record of your skin type and condition, along with recommended products and a customized regime at home. Remember: this is an open conversation between you and I to address any concerns or questions. So if you face was never mapped, think about asking for this complimentary service.
